Mount Vernon CC and Argyle CC both won their state team matches in 2025. The team members were also WDCGA members.

Mount Vernon CC defended its VSGA Women’s State Team title August 5-7 at Hermitage CC in Richmond, defeating Bide-A-Wee GC in a dramatic sudden-death playoff. Mount Vernon’s team consisted of Shawn McCullough, Kim Palko, Linda DiVall, Joan Gardner, Susan Podolsky and Sarah Alvarez. MVCC qualified medalist at -12, Bide-A-Wee -10, and Army Navy CC third seed in Championship Flight. Bide-A-Wee defeated Army Navy while MVCC defeated long-time rival Country Club of Virginia in a close 27 1/2 – 26 1/2 contest, setting up a rematch of the 2023 State Team finals. Despite losing two close matches against long-hitting Bide-A-Wee, MVCC’s Alvarez-McCullough secured a solid win for the 27-27 tie. With DiVall-Palko representing MVCC, tying birdies sent the playoff to #2, where Palko’s birdie clinched the win and MVCC’s record-tying 16th State Team Championship.

Argyle Country Club triumphed over Congressional Country Club with a score of 8 to 4 to secure victory in the 2025 Maryland Women’s State Team Championship. This marked the fourth consecutive year and the seventh time in the 29-year history of the Maryland Women’s State Team Championship that these two clubs faced each other in the championship match.
Argyle C.C.’s journey to the final began with a decisive 12 to 0 sweep over Kenwood Golf and Country Club in the first round. Following a forfeit by Chevy Chase Club in the semifinals, Argyle C.C. advanced directly to the finals for its fifth straight appearance. This is Argyle C.C.’s eighth Maryland Women’s State Team win, the second most all-time, and its first since 2021.
